Stop Airport Expansion Protest - 21st April 2023 - Trafalgar Square to Department for Transport
About 50,000 Protesters marched from Trafalgar Square, past Downing Street, the Houses of Parliament and onto The Department for Transport HQ, where speeches were held for all to hear.
Just about every protester had created a placard, sign, badge, t-shirt, etc - and above is just a flavour of a few of the thousands of protest signs on show.
The protest was held on a Friday - the start of a weekend of protests, and was a happy, peaceful, wonderfully organised protest march, with hundreds of Extinction Rebellion stewards wearing pink tabards, along with the police - keeping the crowds safe on the roads and junctions. There were dozens of bands, singers, speeches - and a very happy crowd.
They say there were representatives from over 26 airports around Britain - protesting against Airport expansions.
